I like blueberries.

Real Name: ????

Codename: Ruma

Age: 17

Birthday: February 14th

Height: 5’2” [158 cm]

Weight: 112 lbs

Profession: Mechanic/Street Punk

Rank: F

Card of Choice: Jack of Diamonds

Weapons:

    ·         Slot Screwdriver: For stabbing, making noise, and unscrewing things.

    ·         Glock 19 [9mm] from the house: He prefers not to use it—tenses up too much in anticipation of the kickback; uses it more as a distraction than a weapon

Items: Chocolate snack with a biscuit incorporated; phone

Personality:

Open| Needs Freedom| Cautious| Neutral| Persevering| Introverted| Needs Respect

Pretty open—Ruma answers questions truthfully, unless he’s a. being an ass, b. doesn’t want to talk about it, or c. both. But he doesn’t just reveal things—you have to ask.

Has a habit of avoiding looking at peoples’ eyes—probably because of his height: While he feels he’d be fine, were he to look into an opponent’s eyes, he’d freeze and get himself killed. To kill, Ruma’d have to do it in cold-blood. Or just train to get rid of his eye-phobia. Eyes are said to be the windows to a person’s soul, but to Ruma they are twin cages, and he wants to be free.

Cautious: Ruma tends to play it safe; he’s pushing himself with his screwdriver weapon, really. But at the same time, he has less regard for rules without serious punishments [read: jail-time].

Neutral: He always wants to see whole picture—prefers not to make a decision/pick a side until he’s heard all sides.

Persevering: If he feels it’s worth it, he’ll keep at something, even if his current results are sucky. Ex: While he still kinda sucks at drawing, he’s improving. He’s better at drawing machines and tools [mostly tools] due to how much time he’s spent with them.

Introverted: Doesn’t even know he’s lonely, ‘cause he’s never had a best friend. But he prefers being alone—it helps him think and be productive.

Respect:Gets worked up when he’s disrespected, probably because he had to go through a lot of disrespect growing up—and not just because he’s a rabbit.

Ruma’s neutral nature goes beyond his desire to see the full picture—it’s also how he is. He doesn’t pick sides unless he has to, and even then it’s reluctantly. He does things based on want(which at this point is more need) or merit. [These conditions tend to coincide.] Along with his neutral nature comes an awareness that has not yet reached its full potential. He has yet to ask himself what he wants—after his family’s disappearance, it was more what he needed. Joining BJBB will force him to ask this question.

Ruma doesn’t know himself—what drives him beyond merit. He is aware that he’s not as cool/interesting as the rest of his family. His parents are fighters; his siblings are geniuses. He’s just a kid who worked hard to get to where he is now [which isn’t even the top]—even the slightest bit of slacking off could send him spiraling. All Ruma is right now is what his parents have taught him [the importance of making connections, of being intelligent, of being able to defend oneself, of being on top], and what society has made him. It’s time for him to make himself. [Don’t worry—there’s not gonna be any big changes, if any, besides self-awareness.]

The 17 year-old is constantly multi-tasking, as time is precious. It could be planning, but he’s always doing something. You wanna have a conversation? It’ll be a competition with whatever else is on his mind. How is he lazy? …It’s planning, not execution.

He surprises himself when he gets intense—the kid he repressed to make it to the top comes out sometimes, and when he does, even Ruma is stopped in his tracks, if only for a moment. The kid tends to be an explosion of emotion--less logic, more basic emotions, as Ruma hasn’t allowed them to evolve, really. He doesn’t apologize afterwards, though—there has yet to be a need.

If you know him well, you can tell when he doesn’t like a person. He’ll avoid them whenever he can, furrow his brow should he hear their name, and talk even less when they’re around. There is a pattern to the people Ruma dislikes. They’ve all transgressed him in some way, either by not taking him seriously/disrespecting him, being gross, and/or dissing multiple things he likes [especially mechanics and his family, in any way]. He’s surprisingly petty, and getting back into his good graces is an ordeal. The way into his heart, on the other hand, is quite short and straightforward: through the things he likes—mechanics, intelligence, and martial arts—or by hating on what he dislikes, which includes but is not limited to: the English language; screws having so many different sized heads [there need only be two, three tops]; getting sick; people who repeat things—a lot; having to wear a hat when your hair is on point. my life-less nerd child ;A; If you have something interesting to teach him, he considers you worth hanging around. F.Y.I.

Should you unleash the curse that is discussing mechanics with Ruma, be prepared for a barrage of information and ‘cool facts’ regarding gears, springs, and electromagnetism. Or perhaps you’d prefer complaints on his latest project. Ruma’s paranoia prevents him from saying too much about it [he doesn’t want people stealing his ideas], but he knows just enough to massacre your brain. [I, however, am still learning physics and would appreciate mercy]

His efficiency—correct usage of energy [in and out of fights] need…a lot of improvement. And his stamina could use leveling up. Multi-tasking means he’s rarely fully focused on one thing—which is why accidents happen more often than not, which is also why he has to check his work so many times. In school, he’d be in and out of the infirmary, due to stress. He has respect issues, his freedom issues will probably turn into commitment issues [and his relationships were going so well -_-], and he goes through more pain and suffering than he needs to due to his willingness to keep going until he can’t, by which point it’s pretty bad. Since he’s so easily bored, it’d be a miracle for him to finish a personal project, let alone have an enjoyable job that makes enough money to support him. Ruma’s lack of compassion means even more trouble with relationships of all sorts, and his selfishness just…makes it seem as though he’ll never be in a successful relationship. I cry for my baby To preserve connections, he acts selfless, more often than not. It’s more of a habit now than an actual personality trait.

History:

His father was a mechanic; his mother, a bodyguard. Both were exceptional in their fields, due to their similar desires to escape the slums they grew up in.

Mum grew up in a lab, and saw dead bodies every day. She had her kids trained in martial arts so that someday, they could defend themselves, should she not be there. So Ruma knows how to punch, but he is by no means skilled. It’s mostly instinct. He still throws his weight around and does techniques too quickly and close to his body, which minimizes effectiveness and makes him more likely to get hurt. His never actually having fought to seriously injure might be another problem…

His mother is a rabbit, quite possibly by experimentation—she never said.

Dad was born a rabbit in Pearson to hard-working parents that made do. He had dreams of being better, and forced his way to get where he is now—with his expertise in machines.

His parents created false identities to try and hide their ‘infection’—wanted the best for themselves and their children, even if it meant breaking the rules. They were given unfair places in life, so why not manipulate their future for better ones? Ruma sees them as victims of circumstance—as such, has always disdained humans, the cause of a majority of their suffering.

His dislike of the situation is why Ruma doesn’t mind throwing a few punches here and there—his fear of repercussions has kept him from going too far, though.

He learned a few things from his dad about mechanics—but only took a real interest in the stuff involving gears, springs, and magnets/electromagnetics. He started learning when he was 15.

Ruma is the eldest of four—two younger brothers and two younger sisters [bunnies, man]. The youngest sis and brother are twins. His mom’s expecting another one.

Since he’s a rabbit and ridiculously short, his parents want him to have the top scores [hides the rabbit part, of course—hide whatever they can], especially in maths and physics. Ruma did a good job in the beginning, since he’s good at memorizing. But once there were concepts one must understand to do [and word problems], he started slipping. As hard as he tries, Ruma still feels inadequate, especially in his ‘elite’ high school.

His parents constantly remind him why he has to work so hard, why society’s so against him: they fear him, and what he can do. And in their fear, the humans go mad, trying to channel it through violence and propaganda. But we will be free,” they always remind him.

Ruma took to watching the people around him—his friends, mostly—to know his enemies that much better. People-watching became more of a hobby when he started drawing. He still sucks, but he’s improving. He’s better at drawing machines and tools, though, due to how thoroughly he knows them.

--

When he came back home from school one day, everyone was gone. No real disturbances…besides the bullet-hole behind the chair. And that the bedrooms were ransacked.

Ruma assumes it was slave-traders or P.O.S.R.A., which would explain the lack of blood. He suspects his parents engaged in some questionable stuff in the past, which is why Ruma wasn’t surprised so much as devastated to find them gone. He thinks they could’ve been taken by P.O.S.R.A. because of the businesses they ran in the past, as well as the false identities they created to send him and his siblings to school.

At first Ruma asked around and surfed the internet, searching for clues as to where his parents might be. The necessary internet skills lacking, he came up cold. There were no reported arrests the day they disappeared, though.

What Ruma doesn’t know: his parents were taken in a day or two before P.O.S.R.A. was to receive information about their past crimes—someone else found them out, and used their leverage to cut a deal with Ruma’s parents.

Eventually Ruma realized he had to keep living, and suspended his search. He recognizes that he’s done all he could, but he still feels guilty—what if I’d come home earlier?”

After realizing he didn’t want to call his temperamental-stranger-relatives, Ruma called up a few of his dad’s buddies—the ones his dad mentioned enough for Ruma to know calling them would be okay. He just wanted a job, really. And his dad’s friends seemed trustworthy enough…

One of his father’s friends strongly suggested Ruma seek out BJBB and hide there. The problem? The lack of a special route or set of instructions he could follow to lead him there.

By chance, Ruma came across Calixte, a hover scooter ridin’ bunny, who at first wanted to leave, but eventually gave in to Ruma’s pleas. The rabbit listened to Ruma’s story; understanding he had nowhere else to go, Calixte hesitantly led him to the brigade.

Reasons for joining BJBB:

There was no place for him, even before his family disappeared. Ruma started to lie about his family’s whereabouts so the school wouldn’t get suspicious. At some point, he just couldn’t take it anymore.

It dawned on him how simple his classmates’ lives were—how the rabbits were the bad guys, the freaks, and the humans were the ones they were stealing precious resources from. After hearing their unnecessary pity for the rabbits, or the rants of the egotistical bastards who still thought of them as organ-donors, he finally understood: humans just aren’t worth saving.

After adequate time spent studying humans, he added to his parents’ conclusion that humans prosecuted rabbits due to their fear of rabbits with: “we’re the evolution, really.”

The current situation with P.O.S.R.A. killing the BJBB members in the worst way he’s seen thus far—the combination of strategy and ruthlessness he hates being used against him—sent Ruma over the edge. Now he fears for his and his family’s lives, in addition to wanting to make the humans’ lives hell. In whatever way he can. So joining BJBB would be pretty great for him.

TL;DR of Reasons: Ruma needs a home and a job, and quite likes the thought of putting the humans in their place while getting them.

Miscellaneous:

o   Enjoys a good laugh—likes people who can get a chuckle or two out of him per conversation

o   When making his own stuff, he likes to use tri-wings—calls them his “Illuminati” screwdrivers unless the Illuminati don’t exist in this universe

o   Loves grips—all his tools have ‘em

o   Gay as fuck Gets very uncomfortable, even with casual displays of affection. Took him a long-ass time to accept hugs, and those are sparing.

o   Somewhat nearsighted—will need glasses in the future. So that sign down the road? Can’t read it. Only guesses at what it might read. Will wait until problem gets really bad before doing anything.

o   Scars on his face are from doing stupid stuff when he was ‘younger’ [to which he’d reply: I thought I could reach it.]

o   Wears a hat when he doesn’t like his hair—or when he’s going outside [when his hair is amazeballs, he’ll settle for a hoodie]

o   Weaboo trash—chose the name Ruma [short for “haguruma”, gear in Japanese]

o   Likes the theatre—participated more when his ears were smaller

o   Has special ‘work clothes’ for when he’s gonna deal with grease vs. just metal

o   Suit on one of his barrettes

    o   Doesn’t like wearing necklaces [they're constricting]

o   Ears are flexible—puts his ears down in school, to help hide

o   Appreciates ‘leafy water’ so don’t be hatin’

o   When he’s sarcastic, his tone’s all wrong, so it sounds like he’s being serious
